there were things about this that i liked. especially the dynamic between patrick and jonny. im not normally a second chance romance kinda guy, but thats not exactly what this was? i dunno. jonny's characterization was solid throughout and i really enjoyed him and his motivations. the sadness of loving each other but having to say no because of the circumstances of their lives is just. mmm. deliciously angsty pining.
i think it could have been greatly expanded. like literally no closure with patrick's parents??? what a choice. also needed a copyedit big time. there was a section in the middle where i couldnt put this down, but the beginning and end were weak and aside from maybe stealing the concept of this for my own purposes, i don't think i got much out of it.
