god, the first two thirds of this were perfect. just a really haunting, fucked up dream of prose. bucky dies falling off the train and wakes up that morning over and over again, and the way it's written is so clever and touching. i just felt so sure that it wasn't going to be a literal time loop but more a byproduct of suspended animation and his brain struggling to find a way back to steve and away from the winter soldier. but no it was an actual time loop and i found the ending to be way more literal and boring than the writing deserved.
Description:
Bucky dies for the first time in February of 1945, and then he dies again, and again, and again. It doesn't stick, but he can't find a way out, either.
