the best thing about this fic is that it treated concepts like the aurors & the ministry, ex-death eaters, good and bad, etc., with a nunace i appreciated. draco's no-nonsense approach to the complexities of morality were really nice. but like. i didn't like the characterization of anyone here at all. a lot of the choices were weird. the smut was maybe smutty enough to warrant a high steam rating, but it didn't really work for me; it was all quite external, tell over show, etc. all the meaty stuff felt weirdly inconsequential, and, worst of all, the entire plot hinged on a no-communication/miscommunication. i hated it :) the first half was far, far better than the second. i can't believe i'm saying this, but the parts before they get together are the most compelling. womp.
Description:
Draco is a Seer who has been struck with terrible, uncontrollable visions of the deaths of everyone around him, triggered by touch. He retreats to an Unplottable Black family cottage to research his condition and fix it. Things are going relatively well until Harry Potter shows up at the cottage with a furry condition of his own.
